Committed to the United Way and a donor - a canvasser must be 100% committed before asking others to become donors.
Friendly and outgoing -canvassing is not intended to be confrontational or put unnecessary pressure on an individual.
Well respected amongst co-workers - people give to people not just causes.
Good listener canvassers will be confronted with questions and must be able to understand different points of view and respond diplomatically.
Training provided by United Way to help the canvasser be the most effective in their role and become knowledgeable about United Way and funded agencies.
Time availability to attend training and conduct canvassing must be clearly outlined.
